How to use it

Send an SMS from:

Make a Call from:

To send an SMS from a BT AvaTalk Phone Box
TEXT
1 Click on the SMS symbol located next to the Phone Box handset
2 Follow instructions in the chat message from BT AvaTalk that will ask you to enter the security channel, the number (including country code) and your message. BT AvaTalk will tell you what your security channel is
e.g. Enter: ‘/42820 <phone number> <message>’
‘/42820 4477123456789 Hello World!’
3 Press the return key (ENTER) to send you command

BT AvaTalk will send you a chat message to tell you whether the SMS was successfully sent or not

To send an SMS from a BT AvaTalk HUD
TEXT
1 Click on the SMS symbol on the HUD
2 Follow instructions displayed on the HUD that will ask you to enter the security channel, the number (including country code) and your message. BT AvaTalk will tell you what your security channel is
e.g. Enter: ‘/42820 <phone number> <message>’
‘/42820 4477123456789 Hello World!’
3 Press the return key (ENTER) to send you command
4 The HUD will display whether the SMS was sent successfully or not
To make a call from a BT AvaTalk Phone Box
CALL
1 Click on the CALL symbol located next to the Phone Box handset
2 Follow instructions in the chat message from BT AvaTalk that will ask you to enter the security channel and the number (including country code) you wish to call
e.g. Enter: ‘/42820 <phone number>
/42820 4477123456789
3 Press the return key (ENTER) to send you command
4 BT AvaTalk will send you a chat message to tell you whether the call was successfully placed or not
5 A call will now be made to the number you wish to call
6 Once the owner of that number agrees to answer the call, another call will be made to your phone
7 You will now be connected on a FREE call for up to 1 hour!

To make a call from a BT AvaTalk HUD
CALL
1 Click on the CALL symbol on the HUD
2 Follow instructions displayed on the HUD that will ask you to enter the security channel and the number (including country code) you wish to call
e.g. Enter: ‘/42820 <phone number>

3 Press the return key (ENTER) to send you command
